Why This Matters Locally
July 16, 2024 EF-1 strikes Sacandaga Lake Region:
In 2025, Fulton County (home to Northville) saw thousands lose power in storms like December's ice event (6,691 customers affected) and February's winter blast—part of larger Upstate hits where outages lasted 24–78 hours. About 50% of local families were impacted at least once across the year.
FRS/GMRS radios keep you connected—no grid needed.
Meet the Founder:
I'm Don Gifford, your Net Control (WSCH837).
I grew up around radios, live in Northville, and want to help our community stay connected when the grid fails.

Let's build this together—one check-in at a time.
The Community Emergency Radio Service website is currently under development as we finalize our digital infrastructure.
Much like setting up a field station, we’re making sure every connection is secure and every signal is clear before we go fully "on-air."
Keep checking back for our latest updates!
In an era where traditional communications can be fragile, we believe in the power of community-based radio. Neighbors helping neighbors.
EasyEmComm (Easy Emergency Communication) is dedicated to making emergency communications accessible, reliable, and straightforward for everyone in the community.
Our mission is to bridge the gap between technical amateur radio and practical, local emergency preparedness. Whether you are a licensed operator or someone looking to keep your family safe during a power outage, we are building this space for you. We are starting in the Fulton County NY area, but this site can expand to any area if the volunteers come forward and establish their out group.
We hope that happens and this idea spreads to every neighborhood!
